The room was great with everything you needed and some nice little touches like still and sparkling water, a jar of traditional sweets, coffee maker and some shortbread biscuits, iron and ironing board etc. The bed was really comfy and the room was very quiet. The pub was a lovely traditional country pub with open fire. The staff were friendly and food was great. Breakfast in your room was perfectly adequate, with cereal, home made muesli, toast and jams, orange juice and yoghurt. A lovely walk opposite the pub down to the river Severn.

The location was delightful, perfect after a long working day. The room was nicely presented and appointed with all the facilities needed and more. The 'in room' continental breakfast was very well planned and presented with plenty of options to cater for most customers stays. I really enjoyed having what I needed and being able to carry on working whilst taking breakfast in comfort.

We have been to the Anchor each year on our way to a holiday cottage in Herefordshire so we knew that the location was lovely and the food excellent. Our Sunday evening roast dinner was excellent. The room was spacious and well furnished and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. We were surprised that it was a do it yourself breakfast but everything was catered for.

We liked everything about this little place - its location in a small unspoilt village, its ambience and the standard of service and facilities. It's relatively easy to get to from the motorway and is close to Bristol. An evening walk from the pub door alongside the river is a pleasant experience and an opportunity to work up an appetite for the excellent food on offer.

Very friendly staff willing to provide a welcome bowl of soup at lunchtime even though we'd arrived just as the kitchen closed. The rooms, which we could check into early, as they were up separate stairs. They were clean, light and well equipped with tea coffee, milk and fruit juices as the breakfast was provided for in the room.
